AJ from The Backstreet Boys chats to I Like Music
AJ McLean is better known as a member of the Backstreet Boys. Having sold over 100 million records the band remain one of the best selling boy bands of all time. AJ has been juggling his time on both a world tour with the band and his own European solo tour. I Like Music managed to catch a moment with this very busy man to chat about the process of making his debut solo album, from working with Ryan Tedder to writing a very personal record.

Hamburg, 18.4.08 - AJ McLean, who has touched as one of the Backstreet Boys voices millions of fans will perform 1st june in Hamburg. On the showcase he will introduce his upcoming solo debut album which will be on sale in the end of 2008.

A J McLean, 30, achieved fame as a member of the American boy band Backstreet Boys. He is currently writing and recording on his own and will be playing in London at the Indig02 Arena on 15 May.

Backstreet Boy: 'New Kids need confidence'
Backstreet Boys star A.J. McLean has warned New Kids on the Block that they'll need "confidence" to enjoy their pop comeback.

New Kids, who sold more than 50 million records before splitting in 1994, announced a reunion tour and album last week.

However, McLean predicted that their comeback efforts will "catch a bit of flack here and there", advising them to have "that confidence among themselves" so they can deal with criticism.

He told DS: "They shouldn't let it bother them. They should just push forwards... If they pull it off, it's gonna open up doors again for so many groups like us and them.

"As long as the music's good, it'll be awesome. They've been gone for quite a while now, but who knows? Maybe it's their time."

Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean put tickets on sale Tuesday for two sneak-preview solo concerts this coming Sunday and Monday in the Los Angeles area.

On Sunday, McLean will play the House of Blues in Anaheim; and on Monday the famous Roxy on L.A.'s Sunset Strip.
